For the work that happens underwater. The Speargun is a quiet, one-shot answer beneath the waves around the Keys, where bullets just won’t carry.
A speargun is built for the water, launching a tethered spear by compressed air or elastic bands. On land it is slow and clumsy, but underwater, where firearms are useless, it is the only thing with any reach. One shot, then a slow reload.
With Leonida’s coastline, swamps and the diving the Keys invite, an underwater weapon makes sense for the map. Confirmed in official material, with range and reload still unconfirmed. Slow to reload and useless on dry land, but down in the blue it is the only thing that talks.
